The ideal product for connecting a SONY camcorder to the Mac's Firewire port. I tried four different stores without success. The camcorder connected right up and I easily downloaded my video. Highly recommended.

I have a Macintosh computer that only has a Firewire 800 connection. I wanted to connect a DV camcorder to the Macintosh to make videos and do live shows. Before I bought this cable, I needed to use an adapter to go from Firewire 800 to Firewire 400. I hate using adapters. This cable does the job easily and neatly.

Belkin IEEE 1394 4-Pin/6-Pin 400 Mbps FireWire Cable (6 Feet)

This is a great cable for 1/3 the price of the comparable cable at a brick and mortar store. This is a very well built cable with braided sheilding and a stiff protective sheath. I used it with equipment that advised against using 4 to 6 pin cables (which wasn't an option for me since my laptop only had a four pin firewire jack) and had absolutely no issues.

After some confusion about the proper cable to order (how many pins? which cable works with my specific camera, firewire vs. USB vs. HDMI, etc.), was able to make and complete the order with no problems. Received in timely fashion and saved money. Thanks!
